The Absolute Best Rabbit Treats in the World

When it comes to showing your bunns some love in the form of treats, I’ve got you covered. After all, the way to a rabbit’s heart is through her stomach, right? Spoiling your pet doesn’t have to mean being unhealthy. There are so many awesome bunny treat makers out there that have the right idea when it comes to rabbit health and happiness. And when you’re choosing treats like these, you won’t have to wait until your bunn’s birthday to celebrate (and have a major cheat day!) Many of these treats can be fed daily.

First, let’s talk about the quality of treats. I’m not going to be talking you into buying any of those gross, overly processed, stale treats you can find at pet stores. The treats that make it onto my list, and into my bunnies’ tums, must meet several requirements.

  1. The treats I choose are all natural and minimally processed. Organic is best. They are free from preservatives, dyes, or anything that I wouldn’t eat myself.

  2. They should be made in small batches by human hands to maintain freshness and quality control.

  3. They must be good for the bunns. They should include herbs, flowers, hays, veggies, fruits, and some grains but NO added sugars or high fat ingredients.

  4. Some “treats” act more as supplements for rabbits, but I am including them in this list as many of the treat makers I love also offer supplemental blends. These products include herbs and plants that are anti inflammatory, calming, aid with digestion, and increase immunity.

  5. Extra points for a cute presentation. My bunns probably don’t care if their treat looks like a cupcake, but I do!

Lil Bean Bakery

Lil Bean Bakery is our absolute favorite source for unique rabbit treats and foraging blends. Kaila, the creator and owner, has an Etsy shop that is well stocked with all kinds of rabbit goodies. The idea for Lil Bean Bakery all started when Kaila adopted her very first bunny, Lola. After extensively researching rabbits in order to provide the best care for Lola, she realized that there weren't many affordable *and healthy* treats for small pets being commercially sold in stores. She took matters into her own hands, and LBB was born!

Here are some of my personal favorites from Lil Bean Bakery.

These linzer tarte inspired Rasberry Rose Bunny Cookies are the perfect addition to any bunny tea party. (why is MY mouth watering? Are you sure these cookies aren’t for me?)

LBB’s Signature Herbal Forage Blend is packed full of vitamins and minerals to support the overall health of your bun. Sprinkle some over their hay, hide it in a toy, or spread it where they play. Your bunn will love this fragrant blend of carefully selected fragrant herbs and flowers.

Ingredients: Calendula Petals, Lavender Flowers, Rose Hips, Chamomile Flowers, Rose Petals and Buds, Dandelion Root

Rabbit-Oli (I’m still laughing at this.)

The Floppy Binkery

The Floppy Binkery is based out of Peoria, Arizona and was started by the lovely, Hailey. She has three handsome, treat loving boys that she started baking for when there was a lack of wholesome rabbits treats available. She noticed that many of the commercially produced products were made for a “variety of small animals” and contained seeds that were NOT healthy for rabbits. When she saw how much her bunns loved her baking, she decided to get creative and try new shapes, sizes, and flavors. The result of her hard work and experimentation has become The Floppy Binkery. Check out Hailey’s Etsy shop for tons of fun and unique treats made just for rabbits.

Binky Burgers

What can I say? Sometimes you just need a burger to satisfy your craving. Fortunately, this burger won’t make you bunns too chubby if they can limit themselves to just one…they come in a pack of three so this is harder than it sounds!

Ingredients: Alfalfa Pellets, Oats, Hawthorn, Dried Tomato, Dried Kiwi, Calendula, & Wood

Recommended Dosage: no more than 1 burger every few days

Does your bunn have a birthday coming up? We found the perfect birthday cake! Do they have bunny friends that want join in the celebration? Don’t worry, these cakes come in fours!

Ingredients: Base: Pellets & Oats. Topping: Oats, Dried Papaya Ring, Dried Peach & Dried Strawberry

Recommended Dosage: 1 cake per day

Introduce your bunns to yummy florals with this fun treat and toy in one. They come in a three pack of different flavors.

Ingredients: Lavender, Hibiscus, Camomile, Wood

Recommended Dosage: 1 bunsicle a day

River Bard Farm

River Bard Farm is nestled in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts, where they raise Icelandic sheep, heritage pigs, LaMancha goats, ducks, geese, chickens, quail, and (my favorite!) Flemish Giant rabbits. What started as a modern-day, return-to-roots homestead has expanded into pasture-based production with a focus on animal welfare and the highest quality heritage and grass-fed meat, eggs, and wool products. Can we talk about farm goals? Somehow, Angela also finds time to make one of my favorite rabbit treats on Etsy.

I told you give extra points for a cute presentation! DONUTS!

These “donuts” have a nutritious alfalfa base and are topped with one of eight flavors of organic fruit and veggie glaze: strawberry, dragonfruit, açaí, beet, wheatgrass, tomato, carrot and blueberry. For the authentic donut look, some donuts in the assortment are topped with crunchy (and healthy!) quinoa sprinkles.

Recommended Dosage: 1 donut per day

Outside of the United States (but worth the wait!)

There are many amazing bunny treat makers that are located outside of the United States. The only reason that these shops aren’t higher on my list is that the shipping can be quite expensive for me in the States and wait times are slightly longer. Perhaps one of these shops will be closer to where you live, or if you’re like me, you might just be tempted to spoil your bunns beyond what makes good financial sense. You will understand my temptation when you check out these shops.

The Rabbits Pawty - Located in France

And of course being from France, they offer Floral-Truffles! They are oat free and come in different flavors.

Ingredients: Hay, Flowers, Calendula, Cornflower, Mallowflower, Apple, Carrot, Blueberry, Rose Buds, Strawberry

Recommended Dosage: 4 truffles per week

The Rabbits Pawty Etsy shop is full of delightful finds for rabbits. They have cakes, forage blends, and even bunny pops!

I hope you have enjoyed this list of my favorite rabbit treats! I know these options will keep your bunny tums full for quite awhile, but this is by no means a complete list of the wonderful treat makers out there. If you have a treat or forage blend you love, please share it below! The bunns of Breadbox are always interested in trying new treats.
