Homesteading Lessons for Kids
Learn by doing. Join us for a hands on experience at Breadbox Farm.
Breadbox kids classes are lead by Savannah Shoemake and co-created with Robin Salmani. Both women share a passion for teaching about sustainable practices and why it is important to live in balance with the Earth. Our classes take an interdisciplinary approach that includes learning about biology through a rabbit’s body and life processes. We will discuss the delicate balance of eco-systems and how we work them as humans, use empathy to connect with animals, and touch on the folklore and mythology surrounding rabbits. All classes are very active as the kids will be helping in the rabbit room, experimenting and exploring in the gardens, and doing arts and crafts throughout their time with us.
